From Ground Zero to a Multimillion-dollar division: How Talentpath’s Projects & Tech Division Is Changing the Game.

Breaking Ground and Building Big: The Rise of Projects & Tech at Talentpath

When it comes to bold recruitment moves, leaving a Business Services desk generating over $1.2 million in annual gross profit to build an entirely new Projects and Tech division from scratch solo is something that would rank pretty high. But for Asli, that decision wasn’t about walking away, it was about stepping toward something bigger.

Nearly three years on, Projects & Tech at Talentpath isn’t just established, it’s thriving.

What started as a belief and a blank canvas has transformed into a high-performing, purpose-driven division that’s disrupting the tech recruitment space with its human-first, high-touch approach.

In this Q&A, we unpack the journey from concept to success, the trends fuelling growth, and the powerhouse team poised to take it even further.

You’re heading into your third year leading Projects & Tech at Talentpath, how has the journey been so far?

Wild(e) - in the best way!

This division started completely from scratch. It was me, a belief that it could work, and the technical expertise and experience to know I could deliver. So, I worked closely with Talentpath’s Founders, and we got started. I made the decision to walk away from a very well established and successful Business Services desk to launch Projects & Tech at Talentpath, and we had zero brand presence in the IT market, so it was a huge gamble.

It wasn’t a decision that was made lightly on my behalf. I had a vision, and Talentpath supported me 100%, which is why I decided to take the leap and go for it (despite a lot of people telling me not to do it). It was a big risk, personally and professionally, but hands down, the best decision I’ve ever made.

Fast forward to now: I’ve built a $1M+ annual revenue perm desk again, and the IT industry is a space that I truly love working in. It’s been fuelled by strong relationships, staying true to our values and always being connection-led.  We backed our belief that you can create demand and build trust, even in a new market, if you’re doing the right things.

The past few years have brought big wins, steep learning curves, and a few tough patches too. But one thing that’s never wavered is my mantra: “Do the right things, and the right things will happen.” This journey has proven that time and again.

All the wins have come down to playing the long game and sticking to a way of working that genuinely works, for clients, for candidates, and for us.

What trends or demands in the market have driven this latest growth in your division?

There's been a huge push in project delivery, digital transformation, data, and tech uplift. Clients are demanding pace, quality, and want to work with people they truly enjoy partnering with.

That’s where we come in.

I get regular feedback from clients and candidates that our approach feels different, more thoughtful, more consultative, and ultimately more effective. That’s played a big part in the growth.

Why did you feel now was the right time to grow the team?

We’ve built something incredibly special in the perm space, but the contract market has remained completely untouched. That’s a massive opportunity for us to grow internally whilst also expanding our offering to clients.

With demand for day-rate and contract talent at an all-time high, and with our reputation in the market cemented, it’s the right time to expand. Bringing in the right people, who not only understand the market but also share our values, means we can keep scaling without compromising the experience that’s got us here.

Finally, we want to be able to provide clients with expanded capability. If they are already using us for permanent placements, extending that to contract talent is a natural progression and allows our clients to streamline both permanent and contract roles through us.

Can you tell us a bit about the team, their backgrounds and what they’ll be bringing to the division?

I’m so excited about the team! As soon as I met Jaclyn, I knew she was the one, she is an absolute gun and brings four years of experience in the day-rate IT contracting space. She’s already bringing fresh energy and knowledge into how we approach that side of the market.

This hire was huge for us, and it had to be the absolute right person, not just experience-wise but values-wise too. You get that buzz when you meet the right person for a role, that feeling just can’t be replicated, every conversation I have with her gives me the buzz and I can’t wait for all my clients/candidates to meet her.

Rosie, who recently stepped into the Projects and Technology Talent Partner role, has been with Talentpath for two years and is an absolute powerhouse. She brings structure, care, and empathy into every candidate interaction, and she’s got such a knack for helping us improve the way we work. Rosie is exceptional and works to such a high standard, I feel like she improves every interaction we have and will further enhance the experience we provide.

Together, I truly believe that these two and this team are unstoppable. The sky’s the limit and I feel equipped with a team ready to elevate what we already have on offer to clients and candidates alike.

What excites you most about having a dedicated talent partner and now adding a specialist for the contracting side?

For me, it’s that we have the foundations to scale in every direction. Jaclyn’s going to open up the contract side of the business in a way I haven’t had the capacity to until now, and Rosie will focus on continuous improvement that will elevate how we deliver and how we operate behind the scenes. Together, we’ve got the coverage, insight, and care to grow this into something profound.

For clients, what does this growth mean for them? How does it help you deliver even better outcomes or service?

It means we can now truly meet clients where they are, whether that’s hiring permanent project staff or scaling up delivery teams with flexible contractors. It also means increased speed, sharper processes, and even more consistency in how we show up.

Clients regularly tell me the experience they get with Talentpath feels different and therefore gets them different (and better) results - and that’s something we’re absolutely keeping front and centre as we grow.

And for talent, what opportunities does this open up for candidates in projects & tech right now?

More options. More support. More people who genuinely care about where you're headed.
We’re expanding opportunities across both permanent and contract markets, while staying true to what matters most:

As a tech recruiter, my focus isn’t just on technical skills. It’s on the people behind the roles. Time and again, I’ve had clients and candidates say, “This doesn’t feel like any recruitment experience I’ve had before”.  They say that the interviews and the role briefs feel different, that’s because we go much deeper than just tech-stacks. That kind of feedback keeps me grounded in the importance of real human connection, and that’s what drives me.

Now, with more hands on deck, we’re better equipped than ever to deliver that same meaningful experience

What are your big goals for the division in the next 6–12 months?

We’re ready to double down, literally. In the words of Mean Girls: “The limit does not exist.”

We’re focused on growing with intent: making strategic senior hires, sharpening our niche specialisation, and continuing to elevate the standard of delivery.

We’re also leaning further into data and insights, with Rosie playing a key role in helping us understand what’s working, where we can improve, and how we keep pushing the benchmark across the board.

Is there anything you wish more people in the industry knew about working with you and your team?

That we’re in it for the right reasons. We care about experience, not just outcomes, and I know that’s rare.

I’ve said before that the process is the win, not the placement. If you do the right things the rest will follow - every day we should be improving our processes and refining what we do. That gets us where we want to go.

We’re commercially sharp, of course. But what sets us apart is the level of thought and care that goes into how we deliver. We build partnerships that last a long time, and span careers. We work with people that think the same way, and I think that’s why we’ve grown the way we have.

Projects & Tech might be one of our fastest-growing divisions, but it’s far from the only one. Across Talentpath, teams are expanding, new roles are opening, and we’re always on the lookout for people who are as passionate about what they do as we are.

Whether you're a recruiter ready for your next chapter, a specialist looking for a team that truly values people over process, or someone curious about what a career at Talentpath could look like, we'd love to hear from you.
